Athlete Bio

Ida grew up in northern Vermont and started skiing as soon as she could walk. She skied with the Craftsbury Nordic Ski Club before attending Burke Mountain Academy and Dartmouth College. At Dartmouth, she captained the Women’s Nordic Team for two winters and graduated with a degree in biology and psychology.

She was named to the US Ski Team in 2011 and has competed for the team ever since including in the 2011, 2013, and 2015 World Championships and the 2014 Olympics.

Ida now lives in Craftsbury, Vermont where she trains with the Craftsbury Green Racing Project. A World Cup regular and red group sprinter, Ida has individual top ten World Cup finishes in both sprint and distance events. She achieved a career best 5th place finish last winter in the classic sprint in Ruka, Finland.
